DVB Dream#

Use only driver from SkyStar 2 PCI, so NOT install tools
Install ffdshow-rev2280_20081102_xxl.exe
Install DVB Dream (1.4i)
Run full channel search (ignore real transponder frequencies)

DVBViewer#

This comes with TechniSat but also as stand alone product

Favorites#

Favorites are saved, when DVBViewer is closed, under:
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\CMUV\DVBViewer TE2\favourites.ini
Windows8: C:\Users\All Users\CMUV\DVBViewer TE2\favourites.ini
You can delete this file to recreate the list, if stuck.

Missing MSVCR71.dll#

It occurs when deinstalling RealPlayer. This helped:

Download from internet Msvcp71.dll And Msvcr71.dll files
For Win7/64bit place into C:\Windows\SysWOW64

Server4PC#

If you get the message like "Cannot open file", then give full access rights to all users to C:\Users\All Users\Technisat\DVB-PC TV Stars\epg.ldb + epg.mdb

Windows 8#

In Windows8 you sometimes get a black screen in DVBViewer. This happens as far as I see, when a different account was logged in before, but also sometimes when you simply have started with the same user account that was used before. When you restart, everything works fine again !?
Try Out:

Win+X > Device Manager > Network Adapters > TechniSat DVB-PC Virtual Network Adapter
Check if this one is active, if not activate (and restart)

When the message is Server4PC: "Datei konnte nicht gesperrt werden", then you need to give full right to these two files:

C:\ProgramData\Technisat\DVB-PC TV Stars\
epg.ldb
epg.mdb

Kanasuche: Hardware nicht gefunden
Delete "TechniSat BDA Digital Tuner" from this file (whole section):

C:\Users\All Users\CMUV\DVBViewer TE2\hardware.ini

Then your real device is left as only device and scanning works.

ProgDVB#

The 64bit Version does not work with TechniSat's SkyStar 2.
The 32bit Version works fine with V6.72.

To use the TechniSat's Sky Star 2:
1. Install TechniSat default package to get the network driver (no unknown device in device manager)
2. You do NOT need to run "Server4PC" (Remove it from Autostart)
3. Start ProgDVB > Menu > Settings > TV Sources > "DiSEqC Switch, Positioner,...in Advanced mode" (link at the bottom)
4. Choose "(WDM) Sky Star 2 TV PCI"
5. Add LNB "KU Band Universal" > 19.2 E Astra 1H,1KR,1L,1M,2C

To change skin:
1. Menu > Settings > Options > User Ihterface
2. Best skin is "WMP 11 v10"\

Note: If you get no audio, go to the channel properties and switch from AC3 to something else.
