Transfer profile#

1. save profil

  • the profile's storage is by default under %APPDATA%\Thunderbird\Profiles\xxxxxxxx.default\ (= C:\Users\<Benutzername>\AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird\Profiles\xxxxxxxx.default\)
  • to be sure check within Thunderbird > Menu > Hilfe > Informationen zur Fehlerbehebung > Button "Ordner öffnen"
  • save whole xxxxxxxx.default to a save place

2. restore on other place

  • copy content of xxxxxxxx.default into an existing profile folder, if you don't have one create one with the profile manager

Move profile#

  • open %APPDATA%\Thunderbird\profiles.ini
  • update Path=...<new profile>...
  • in case change IsRelative=1 (use "/") or IsRelative=0 (use "\")

thunderbird.exe -ProfileManager

  • export settings with Einstellungen > Allgemein > Einstellungen verwalten > Einstellungen exportieren > Save file
  • import settings with Einstellungen > Allgemein > Einstellungen verwalten > Einstellungen importieren > Open file
Alternatively deinstall Kapersky, install and re-enter licence key
